All About Parlays

Are you ready to win big? Parlay bets are a favorite of seasoned sports bettors because they allow you to win a lot, risking very little. Read on to learn how they work.

What is a parlay?

A parlay is a bet on two or more teams or selections. In a parlay, you can combine different sports, point spreads and money lines. Your original stake and winnings are re-invested on the next game and all selections must be correct – one loss and your parlay loses. In the event of a push (tie), game cancellation or a pitcher that you have specified not starting, the parlay reduces to the next lower number, e.g. a four-team parlay becomes a three-team parlay.

A winning parlay wager will pay many times more than the initial wager.

NOTES: In the event that a three-or-more-team parlay results in a tie, it will reduce the wager to the next lowest payoff. For example, a four-team parlay will become a three-team parlay, and a three-team parlay will become a two-team parlay. For wagering purposes, two-team parlays where there is a tie will be paid off as a straight wager.

All parlays will pay up to a maximum of $150,000.

Parlay Limitations

There are some limitations to this bet type, that may prevent from placing a parlay. In a parlay, you may not play both sides of the same game at LowVig.ag. If you play both sides of the same game, any winning wagers on the game will be canceled.

Understanding Parlay Restrictions

Parlay betting allows you to combine multiple bets into one ticket, potentially increasing your payout. However, not all markets, events, or bet types are eligible for parlays due to sportsbook rules and technical limitations. Parlay betting may also be temporarily unavailable due to timing restrictions, such as daily availability windows (e.g., after 8:00 AM or 10:00 AM ET) or closer to the start of the event.

For example:

Denver Broncos 32 1/2 New England Patriots -3

If you play New England Patriots in a parlay, we ask you not to play Denver Broncos in another parlay, likewise if you play over 32 1/2 in one parlay we ask you not to play under 32 1/2 in another parlay.

Furthermore, there are certain lines that cannot be placed in a parlay together, such as Spread with Asian Handicap and Total Points with Asian Handicap; and certain lines that cannot be parlayed, for example, Team Totals.

MMA, boxing and auto racing (e.g., NASCAR) cannot be included in a parlay. Proposition bets/futures cannot be included in parlays either. Some bets might also be restricted based on timing: Preseason games, such as those in the NFL or MLB, are generally not eligible for parlays, while regular-season games typically are.

  • Unavailable Betting Lines: Lines for a game or event may not yet be finalized, so they cannot be added until closer to the start time.

  • Off-Hours Restrictions: In some cases, sportsbooks limit parlay betting during specific times, like overnight.

  • Live Games: Events that are already in progress may only be eligible for straight betting and not parlays. In certain situations, there might be technical or specific errors with the bet slip:

  • Lines Open to Changes: Some odds or lines might still be under revision and can't be parlayed until finalized.

  • Visible But Restricted Lines: Lines may appear in the selection interface but are restricted to individual bets and not eligible for parlays. - Platform Downtime: Temporary platform issues may disable parlay betting, allowing only straight bets on main sports like NFL or NBA.

  • Manual Restrictions: Line managers control parlay availability, which may only open closer to game time.

Combination Baseball Payoffs

Decimal Conversion Chart

Because of the money line used in baseball, there are no set payoffs for tying a number of teams together in parlays. Payoffs are determined by a simple formula that changes the money line into a decimal number and combines it with the other lines in the parlay.

The first step is to change the money line into its decimal value. Use the following chart for this purpose.

Calculating Baseball Parlays

For each PRICE or ODDS quote on your teams, look at their respective PAYOFFS above (to $1) and always add $1 to these payoffs. Multiply your BET by the products of these payoffs (+$1) for your parlay return.

Example 1:

Bet $50 on Astros -150 parlayed to Braves +130.

Example 2:

Bet $50 on Cubs -175 parlayed to Giants +100.

All parlays will pay up to a maximum of $150,000. However, the maximum amount a player can win in a 24hour period is $250,000.
